Well it's been another crazy month as we all continue to adjust to a different way of life. I hope you are keeping safe and happy under the circumstances. We have had another super busy month sending out orders across the globe, to the UK, the USA and Europe; we have even sent some gorgeous vintage gems to Australia!
The weather has been glorious and many of us have been getting out and about more, slowly getting back to work and seeing a little more of family and friends wherever safe and possible. There has also been the news that non-essential shops will be able to re-open from June 15th so we are getting things cleaned and putting new safeguarding measures in place to enable a safe re-opening for everyone. It will be a little strange and different but I am super excited to be able to open the doors of My Vintage and see my lovely customers once again (from a distance of course)
We have also been busy photographing and adding lots more stock to the website, from 1950s vintage dresses to 1970s flares and everything in-between. I've gone through the website and selected a number of my absolute favourites for the month of May. So let's dive in and see what I've chosen...
DRESSES
This silk shift dress is perfect for dressing up or down. Smart enough for a work Zoom call, and casual enough for the garden! A classic print and a great colour palette, you could add a denim jacket and Converse or a smart blazer and heels.
Sticking with the 1970s, I love this boho gypsy style dress with it's delicate golden floral print. Gorgeous with any hair colour, just add a floppy hat and oversized sunglasses for absolute summer chic.
I could talk about dresses this month without featuring this absolute beauty. One of Susan Small's earliest designs of the 1940s, the coffee and cream colour palette and the polka dots are simply stunning. This gorgeous vintage dress is just a dream and so easy to wear for so many different occasions. A real vintage gem.
TOPS
This super cute vintage top is reworked from a damaged vintage shirt and is now a great little summer piece! Perfect to wear with denim shorts or skirts, or for more of a 1950s vibe wear it with some fitted capri pants.
Another top that looks great with denim shorts, this can also be worn oversized as a cover up over swimwear. This sporty top is also fantastic with sweatpants for unique lounge-wear chic!
Another fantastic top for summer is this vintage Disney Mickey Mouse T-shirt is striking green. Cool and comfortable and totally unique!
BROOCHES
Vintage brooches are actually more versatile than you might realise. Of course they can be worn on the lapel of a blazer or jacket, but they also look great on many other items of clothing and accessories. Add to the shoulder of a black cocktail dress, wear on the side of a hat, fasten a scarf or place on a plain clutch bag. You can also cluster brooches together on a small cushion for a pretty feature on a dressing table or bedroom chair. This month, I've gone with an animal theme and picked out a few of my current favourites below...
I hope you have enjoyed this month's top picks as much as I did choosing them. Don't forget that I also post outfit inspirations, top picks and other fun posts over on Instagram and Facebook so be sure to follow us there to get even more updates from the home of fashion's best kept secret - My Vintage.
Please stay safe and happy and I will see you again next week for another blog post.
Until then
