Once thought of as old fashioned and passé, vintage suits have made a real comeback in the last few years. A vintage suit offers such a plethora of different looks for a variety of occasions so it makes sense to consider adding one to your staple wardrobe.
Vintage suits range from smart wool skirt suits of the 1940s and 1950s to cute and flowy two piece number from the 1970s. There are also, of course, some amazing 1980s vintage power suits as well as super on-trend trouser suits from the 90s and Y2K. Special mention also has to go out to one of my favourite combos which are the cute shift dresses and matching jackets of the 1960s.
Another benefit of a vintage suit is that you can also wear the comprising pieces as separates, creating even more looks for your buck! Jackets can be worn with other dresses, skirt and trousers and you can add so many different tops to the bottoms of your suits as well as mixing and matching different suits once you have a small collection.
