This is one of those understated headed-turning dresses made in the late 1980s by the luxe designer label Max Mara. It is under their Pianoforte evening wear label, offering formal and glamorous gowns that stand the test of time. Long black cocktail dress with high neckline, cutaway shoulders and keyhole split detail at the bust with a diamante button. The stunning detail is the diamante chain that creates the halterneck and falls down the open back. This cleverly fastens like a belt with a buckle so can be adjusted. The non stretch dress is full length and has a front split to show a little leg. Full lining and side zip fastening. In very good vintage condition.
